This site is born from the common commitment of several people who originate from various cultural and existential paths, but are united by common interests of study and reflection, in fields such as the sacred, metaphysics, the comparative study of religions, classical philosophy, environmentalist thought, etc.
All these realities of a speculative nature, according to us, the organizers of EstOvest, hold a significant value in the effort to investigate new senses and new perspectives in many fields of contemporary knowledge, such as science, psychology, politics. Areas of knowledge that today more than ever appear on the one hand to be rich in data and compartmentalized information, but are sadly lacking in a convincing theoretical explanatory horizon of a comprehensive character.
We have felt the necessity to collect, and to make available to the public accessible via the Internet, the testimonies and the results of a quest that ranges across the wisdom and the knowledge both of the East and of the West, to the rediscovery of their cultures and traditional "values", without however losing sight of, but indeed dedicating particular attention to, the most stimulating and innovative aspects of contemporary thought.
EstOvest, therefore, wants to be a place of comparison, on multiple levels among different disciplines, mentalities and "points of view". A comparison not an end in itself, but meant as the preferred way to be able to succeed in processing new syntheses, new paradigms of thought, and perhaps to lay down the foundations for significant developments of civilization for the near future.
The symbol of the Yin-Yang, which we have chosen, well represents the possibility of a harmonic and vital cohabitation of radically different realities. A symbol that reminds us that "the pairs of opposite" (as for example: East/West, antiquity/contemporaneity, rationality/intuition) at an advanced level of understanding instead turns out to be forms of "complementarity".
We would want, with our quests, to revive an holistic conception of reality, to contribute to the reawakening of the faculty to perceive "the enchantment of the world", a world reduced to opaque matter, drowned in a soup of numbers by science and positivist philosophy, by now obsolete and lacking in intrinsic value, but unfortunately still influential on the collective mentality.
Myth, symbol, archetype... are terms and dimensions that can be revisited and rediscovered at several levels, from the religious and metaphysical, to the scientific and philosophical, in a perspective of openness and critical understanding of the phenomena of our age, and of the individual life of each of us.
